Mind Yourself TV — it’s TIME!

And now, for a little back story…

I’ve been gearing up for months to launch an online chat show, independent from my work as a program host with The Shift Network, and it’s time to finally roll out Mind Yourself. Want to know how I know it’s time? Check out this stunning synchronicity …

First, a little background so the story makes sense:

I’ve spent most of my adult life building up to this. Because my career experience is primarily in news, standup comedy and hosting interviews, it seems wise to combine those skills and launch my own YouTube channel.

My work as a program host with The Shift Network is a dream come true and I’m grateful for the opportunity to interview some of the brightest minds in the cutting edge field of human consciousness and transformation. But in these interviews, I’m mostly asking the questions TSN’s viewers want me to ask. While their questions are always good ones, oftentimes I have questions I’m dying to ask, too, but it’s not the right time or place.

Sometimes, if there’s a spare minute or two after a broadcast, I’ll toss a question or two at my guest, but it’s frustrating that we never have time to turn it into a full blown conversation.

In addition to Shift’s guests, there are fascinating people I’m itching to interview who may never be booked with The Shift Network. I have questions for them, too!

So, that’s what Mind Yourself is all about … sharing with you intimate conversations with fascinating people. Want to ask a question? Send it in, then watch to see if it gets answered on the show.

I still haven’t addressed how I know it’s time to get started, so here it is. Lately, all of the pieces are beginning to fall into place and the nudges from the Big U to just do it already are impossible to ignore. It’s time. Now.

After the name for the show was delivered from my future self (that’s a story for another day), it was time to design a logo (did I mention my past experience as a graphic designer?). Because the backdrop for my set is this colorful braingasm (design by Melting Miltons) I wanted a similarly colorific brain for the logo.

I Googled for affordable (or free) clipart, and found this exquisite design on iStock by Getty Images:

Isn’t this awesome?

I fully intended to purchase a license to use this, but then read in the small print that it cannot be used in for logo purposes, so I kept up the search.

I was getting discouraged because I wasn’t finding what I wanted. I began to doubt … am I on the right track? Should I wait until what I need is easily delivered, like everything else while developing the program? Am I rushing this? Is it the right time?

I didn’t want to allow discouragement to take the wind out of my sails, so I played around in Photoshop and created the nifty logo that’s posted at the top of this page.

This is a picture of my mind being blown by synchronicity.

After a long day sitting at the ‘puter, I decided to get out of the house for a while. I went to Sprouts to get some organic stuff and saw this at the checkout stand:

To say that my jaw dropped and I stood in uffish thought would be a severe understatement. “Is it time to do this?” I had asked before I left the house.

The answer came thundering in: YES, IT’S LITERALLY TIME.

Can the Big U get any clearer than that? I submit that it cannot. It’s time.

So … welcome to the birth of Mind Yourself with Lisa Bonnice. Here are the pertinent links. You’re one of the first people to see them so don’t be surprised if things are a little quiet, for now. Go ahead and follow them all, and help me build this. Later, you can tell your friends, “I was there at the beginning!”

Marc Allen and me at the offices of New World Library. Marc thinks this picture makes him look a little nutty, and my hair is all wonky, but it’s better than the other selfie we took so we’re sort of stuck with it. 😉

The first show is scheduled to air on Friday, September 20, with my guest Marc Allen, publisher at New World Library and the man who discovered Eckhart Tolle (the author of The Power of Now).

Marc is also the author of The Magical Path and developer of the program How to Get Happily Published, and those are just a couple of the things we’ll be talking about.

Got a question for Marc? Post it on the Facebook page, then watch to see if it gets asked and answered. See you then!

Lisa Bonnice is an award-winning, best-selling author. Her current passion-project is a series of metaphysical comedy novels. The first is entitled The Poppet Master (previously published as Be Careful What You Witch For!, now revamped and with a new ending). The Poppet Master is a modern-day fairy tale about Lola Garnett, a bored housewife and office drone who wakes up with unexpected psychic abilities, and no instruction manual, and Twink, the reluctant, sarcastic faery assigned to assist and educate her. The Poppet Master is available wherever books are sold. Its sequel is in the works.

Lisa is also writing The Maxwell Curse, a fictionalized version of a story she found in her own ancestral lineage about a witch trial, a generational curse, and massive mine explosion, all of which left ripples of destruction in their wake, devastating one family’s tree.
